The official Prehistoric Farm experience centers on transforming the past into living creatures. You don’t simply buy a new dinosaur: you dig for a fossil set, trade it to Dr. Ivy and warm an egg before the creature hatches.

01

Collect the whole fossil set

Pick a dig site on an island that you can both reach and excavate with your current shovel.

02

Restore an egg at the DNA Lab

Bring your fossils to Dr. Ivy. The official game description says a finished set can be turned into an egg.

03

Use the incubator

Warm the egg and follow the timer displayed in the live game. Community footage reports different timers; we do not state a universal hatch duration.

04

Feed your hatchling

Keep the creature’s belly more than half full to help it grow toward Elder.

05

Ride your Elder

The official description says fully grown creatures can become rideable companions for exploring your ranch and beyond.

Should you hatch every egg immediately?

Use the incubator countdown visible in your game to decide whether to go fishing or digging while you wait. Do not assume every egg has the same timer, rarity or growth requirements.

What if growth seems slow?

First check the food meter: the official gameplay instructions specifically say your creature needs to remain more than half fed to keep growing. If this is met, use the in-game status and current update information before assuming a bug.
