New to Prehistoric Farm? Start with the basic loop from the official Roblox description. You do not need to know every dinosaur or late-game island to have a productive first session.
Dig → DNA → Hatch → Raise → Explore
Learn one system at a time. Focus on a complete fossil set and your first creature before chasing every advanced upgrade.
We found Kiko the Merchant during our first session. We did not confirm any current shovel or boat prices. These English notes replace the earlier non-English screenshot.
Step 1. Find the first fossil island
Start at your ranch, look for the boat and sail toward the starter-area dig sites. Community shovel records point to Cambrian as the early digging area; check your in-game map for the current route.
Step 2. Time the green meter
Equip your shovel and hold on a dig site. Watch the on-screen meter and release in the green zone. The official description says this gives a better chance of a good find.
Step 3. Finish a set and meet Dr. Ivy
Once you have a complete fossil set, return to the DNA Lab on the home island and trade it to Dr. Ivy to receive an egg.
Step 4. Warm your egg
Place the egg in an incubator and follow the in-game countdown. Different recordings show different times, so always use the timer shown for your own egg.
Step 5. Keep your creature fed
After hatching, feed your dinosaur and keep its belly over half full. The official instructions highlight this as a requirement for continued growth.
Step 6. Plan your next island
Once you have a growing creature, think about your next shovel or boat. Shovel prices reported by community sites can differ, so confirm current prices before buying. Our coin planner helps you estimate how much to save using the numbers you actually see.
What should beginners ignore for now?
You do not need a complete late-game tier list or the most expensive gear on day one. Learn digging, DNA restoration, incubation and feeding first. Ocean exploration, advanced fossil periods and the Mosasaurus encounter can wait until you understand your equipment and the group mechanics.
